General terms

Unless explicitly stated in these terms, only one promotion can be used per policy.

Mighty Ape Insurance has the absolute discretion to cancel policies or remove or reverse discounts if we detect any activity that we believe is abusive, fraudulent, or in breach of the intent of the promotion or the Mighty Ape Insurance Terms of Service. Mighty Ape Insurance reserves the right to review and investigate all promotional activity and to suspend users or modify discounts at our sole discretion where deemed fair and appropriate.

Mighty Ape Insurance may update these terms at any time without prior notice. If we modify these terms, the updated version will be published on the Mighty Ape Insurance website and will take effect immediately upon posting, unless otherwise stated. Continued participation in the promotion after any modification constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

If you believe there is a discrepancy regarding your discount, please contact us. Mighty Ape Insurance may require additional information in order to assess your claim. All decisions regarding eligibility, balance, or entitlement are final and made at Mighty Ape Insurance’s sole discretion.

You are responsible for any tax consequences that may arise from discounts applied. Where required, Mighty Ape Insurance may be obligated to account for GST and levies on any services to which a discount has been applied.

Discounts are issued for promotional purposes only. They have no cash value and may not be transferred or exchanged for cash. Discounts may only be applied toward payment of new policies or policy renewals issued through Mighty Ape.

Refunds are not available on the discounted portion of any premium. For example, if a $120 policy is purchased using a $100 discount and $20 cash, and the policy is cancelled within the applicable cooling-off period with no claim made, only the $20 paid in cash would be refunded. The $100 discount would be forfeited.

If any provision of these terms is held to be invalid, void, or unenforceable, that provision (or the portion that renders it invalid) will be severed and the remaining provisions will remain valid and enforceable.

Mighty Ape Quote to Win a 50" QLED 4K TV Competition

To be eligible to enter into the Quote to Win a 50" QLED 4K TV Competition, you must successfully complete a Mighty Ape Car or Pet Insurance quote before 11:59PM NZST 31 August 2026. One entry per email address. The winner will be selected at random on 10 September 2026 and notified via email.

The prize is 1 x Kogan 50" QLED 4K TV (valued at $629 as of 15 July 2026) and is not transferable or redeemable for cash. Mighty Ape reserves the right to cancel or modify the competition if required.

Mighty Ape Puppy & Kitten Discount

To qualify: your pet must be under 6 months old at the time your policy with Mighty Ape Insurance begins. To ensure the discount applies, the pet’s date of birth must be entered correctly when requesting a quote.

The discount: up to three months of free premiums, capped at $100 per month per pet. This is applied to the first three months for monthly policies and pro-rata for an annual policy. The dollar value of the free months is fixed at the start of the policy term and mid-term adjustments will not change the value applied.

Promotion interactions: this promotion stacks with ongoing discounts such as the multi-policy discount and the annual payment discount, and may also be used alongside the $30 Mighty Ape voucher promotion while that offer remains valid.

Mighty Ape Insurance Annual Policy Discount

To qualify: Select and purchase an annual policy payment option when setting up your Mighty Ape Car Insurance or Mighty Ape Pet Insurance policy.

The discount: Customers who choose to pay annually receive just under 10% off compared with paying monthly.

We say “just under” because Fire and Emergency levies apply to car insurance and cannot be discounted, nor can the GST applied to those levies. For pet insurance, the discount is 10% as no levies apply.

This is an ongoing pricing difference between annual and monthly payment options and may change from time to time without prior notice

Promotion interactions: This discount stacks with other ongoing discounts, including the multi-policy discount, and may also be combined with applicable upfront promotions such as the first-month-free offer and the $30 Mighty Ape voucher promotion, while valid.
